「故事」是傳達感受最直接而有效的方式，而如果故事能夠被編寫成歌
曲加以傳唱，那產生的影響更是深遠。這首歌之所以能夠綿延至今，
被多人、多次翻唱，其關鍵的因素主要在於反映出一種對社會現象的不
滿與批判。
什麼聲音是「沉默」的，被壓迫的聲音；那什麼聲音會被壓迫？被誰壓
迫？簡單來說，與當權者站在對立面的聲音。所以說這首歌之所以不斷
被傳唱，就是因其具有反叛者的角色，對現狀不滿表達一種態度。
社會本就充斥著各種多元文化的組合，也因其多元，才能顯現出繽紛多
彩的生命，讓其釋放各種可能。不過有時從資源分配的角度來看，分
配不均的問題也是不可避免的，衝突往往油然而生，政治勢力的介入
卻不能解決問題，迫使選邊站或「兩權相害取其輕」的功利角度成了
沒有選擇中的選擇。此時沉默之聲或許可以抒發無可奈何的心情。
原唱版本多數人應該都聽過，所以排除，特別挑了男聲與女聲優質版本
來比較，不同的感受，甚至是全新的感受，但仍不脫原創者想述說的社
會責任。
